ENGINEERED PARQUET
Engineered parquet is a versatile and resilient flooring option that can be installed in most areas of your home and is usually less expensive than solid parquet. Made of genuine wood, this flooring gives your home an updated look and feel. Engineered hardwood is made of a core of hardwood or plywood with a layer of hardwood veneer affixed to the top surface. Its surface layer is varnished and the strips are joined with tongue-and-groove. The surface layer is made of quality solid wood, is resistant to attrition, and has a low thickness (much lower than solid parquet). The bottom or medium layer is made of small, softwood strips, veneer, plywood or MDF (HDF) boards. In this way, solid wood is used more rationally, supporting the positive physical and mechanical characteristics of parquet. A great advantage of pre-finished parquet, as opposed to solid parquet (especially solid, with tongue-and-groove), is rationalization in wood consumption, an easy and quick installment, without sanding and varnishing and a high level of aesthetics in design. Its construction makes it more stable, more durable and cheaper than the solid wood parquet.
